Now launched

Below are some examples of my new Confirmation Bias series which initially launched on 30 Oct 2020 with subsequent releases as and when I make the pieces. There will be more than shown below. You can view the currently available stock/existing launches in my webshop.

These limited edition neons, limited edition print plus luxury cushions are created by using images of paintings I have created (via a combination of fluid art processes and then manipulating the wet paint to form images). I then photograph the wet paint and use this on a text background (often when the paint dries, the image is lost or much reduced, so I don’t use the original paintings, which are also all very small).

I did this work as a reaction to lockdown life - I wanted an element of escapism and enjoyed the process of creating recognisable forms within fluid paint, plus integrating a strong narrative. ‘Confirmation Bias’/ ‘We See What We Want To See’ and ‘We See What They Want Us To See’ are key elements within the series, bringing together the imagery, the viewer’s imagination and my use of specific titles for each piece. They are pieces which are simultaneously a commentary on our time and the echo chambers in which we live, whilst also offering colourful escapism and a satirical nod to the art world.
